Album Cover Work

I got a call from our friend Jeff asking for an "album cover" photo session. Jeff and his friend Todd play acoustic guitar gigs and needed some photos to use on their posters. The posters would be used at clubs and bars advertising their gigs. I love photographing musicians and album cover art always inspires me, so this was right up my alley.

Jeff and Todd wanted to get a selection of images with them in an outdoor casual and relaxed atmosphere. We took the photos as the September sun was about to set, giving us a beautiful warm light. Perfect for some great natural light portraits. There was no need to break out any strobes or flashes for this session, the setting sun was all we needed.

You can see Jeff and Todd Acoustic play at Harvey's Bar and Grill in Huntersville ( http://www.harveysinhuntersville.com/ )  on October 28. C'mon out if you like great music and fun times.

Let Jeff and Todd know which one you like and thanks for taking a look at the blog!

See you at Harvey's

Peace

John

Pet Photography and Jelly aka: PP&J

Everybody loves their pets. Many of us treat our pets like they are our children. If you are like me and believe their pet is part of the family, you want to consider a pet portrait.

A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to update photos of our beautiful Bulldog, Jelly. Jelly doesn't like to sit still for photos so I ran her around the backyard for a few minutes. Trust me, it doesn't take too much running to get Jelly to become a great model for the camera. As a matter of fact, she's looks a bit like a beauty queen in front of the lens. Don't you agree??

Baby Photography in Studio

Who doesn't love babies?? I recently had the pleasure of photographing 4 month old Adler. Adler had lots of energy and that made it a fun baby photograph session. I always plan on a longer session when photographing newborns and infants. You have to be prepared for a stop and go session with the baby. Besides keeping the studio warm, I'm keeping plenty of towels, blankets and an assortment of wipes on hand.

When photographing a newborn or baby, I work to get an assortment of baby awake and sleeping. I also want to offer selections of black and white photographs. Black and white newborn photographs appear timeless to me.

Here are some of the baby photos from my session with Adler.
