Waterfall on Cedar Creek

Cindy and I hiked the Pisgah National Forest in western North Carolina last month. We found this peaceful place and spent a couple of hours relaxing and taking in all it's beauty.

Places

While walking one of my favorite cities, I turned a corner and found these two US flags flying with the sun and the Chrysler Building in the background. With all the negative news surrounding our country, this reminds me that the USA has always been and will always be the greatest country.

Baby Girl Watching Snow Flakes

During a recent snow fall I was able to capture this beautiful baby watching snow fall from the skies. Living in North Carolina where it does not snow often, it may have been her first experience for watching snow flakes.

Canon 7D ISO 640, 50mm, f2.0, 1/320

When she turned from the window, I shot this using the same beautiful light.

Double Header with Holy Water

A baptism is an important first step in a child's religious indoctrination into the Catholic faith. A baptism "opens the door of the church" for the child and he or she then become a member of the Catholic church. Godparents are chosen to provide the child with a role model exemplifying good religious and personal practices. The child is dressed in white garments to symbolize a purity of faith.

It was a beautiful family day when both grandsons were baptized at the same ceremony. On a clear and warm autumn day, Harold Stephen Costenoble and Andrew John Costenoble were baptized at Holy Spirit Catholic Church .

Birthday Girl

Every year for her birthday, I get to photograph one of my favorite little models, Rylee. Rylee turned 4 this year and this marked my third birthday photograph session with Rylee. This year, on a beautiful autumn Saturday afternoon at Jetton Park Rylee gave me some great moments and many smiles. Happy birthday Rylee!

Watching a Family Grow

Children grow up so fast! How many times do we say that through out the year? A great way to preserve family memories is to arrange for a family portrait session once a year. The recorded images help to forever remind us of the family growing together.

A year ago, Jeff and Terriann contacted me to photograph their two year old daughter, Rylee. During the same photo session, we created a set of family portraits. We did the same thing this year for Rylee's third birthday. Jeff and Terriann will use some of the photographs for family Christmas gifts. They also will choose one of the photographs for their Christmas cards. All of the photographs from the session  now become part of their family portrait collection. Such a great way to share and preserve their family memories!

Jeff and Terriann, thanks for letting me be part of your family memories!

Thanks for reading my blog this week.

Peace

John
