A Day of NFL Training Camp

A professional football player must endure the rigors, heat and humility of training camp every year of his professional football career. This is the place where a football player proves to coaches, media and fans that he belongs in the National Football League http://www.nfl.com/. No matter how heralded a rookie player was during his high school or college playing days, he must now compete for his place on an NFL team. The veteran player must demonstrate he still has the strength, quickness and desire to play against the young hungry player. 90 players report to training camp and work hard every day for a spot on the final 53 man roster. The competition is fierce.

On a hot and humid day in Spartanburg, SC the Carolina Panthers http://www.panthers.com/index.html marched on to the football practice fields at Wofford College http://www.wofford.edu/. The young fans lined up along a fence shouting to their favorite player hoping for an autograph. The hill overlooking the practice fields was dotted with ardent fans identifying the many on going individual competitions. Shouts of instruction and encouragement came from the coaching staff as they worked players through their drills. Despite the oppressive weather and many distractions, these professional football players displayed an intense and disciplined athleticism.

Thanks for viewing the blog and have a great week!
